Singer, actor. Born Amanda Leigh Moore in Nashua, New Hampshire, on April 10, 1984. The daughter of an airline pilot and former news reporter, Moore was raised outside of Orlando, Florida. Determined to be a singer from an early age, she was dubbed “The National Anthem Girl” for her regular performances of “The Star Spangled Banner” at sporting events.
After breaking into the recording industry with voiceovers and commercials, Moore signed with Sony in 1999. Her debut album, 1999’s So Real, which included her best-known hit, “Candy,” was followed by 2000’s I Wanna Be With You. Moore has parlayed her music success into an acting career, with roles in the teen romances A Walk To Remember, How to Deal and Chasing Liberty.
